Cool Wool Retreat
Spend 4 nights with us at Beskidzka Apartments.
After the success of the retreat run last June, Cool Wool and Beskidzka Apartments are teaming up again to give you a bigger, better retreat!
A quiet, relaxing and idyllic house backing onto the woodlands. Listen to the soothing stream while you knit or crochet your hours away and choose between the house, the garden, or sitting by the stream!
We strive to make your stay with us unforgettable. Our goal is to send you off with not only a full stomach but also a heart filled with joy, a suitcase packed with treasures and memories that will be so fond you will want to come back again!
What We Did in 2024
2024 was the maiden voyage for retreats hosted at Beskidzka Apartments, and we packed in knitting, crocheting, eating, drinking, laughing, shopping, walking, and ice cream!
Knitting or Crochet?
How about both?
Carol Ibbetson will be holding a session on Tuesday and Thursday morning.
There will be one knitting and one crochet, you can join one or the other or both or bring your own WIP. You will learn something new and have a project to work on possibly even take home with you.
These are optional but are included as standard, materials needed etc will be available closer to the date.
Monday 16th June
Arrive in Krakow, Poland and travel to Beskidzka Apartments.
Depending on the time of arrival, you can relax in the garden, by the stream, in the apartment, or go straight to bed.
Either way, you will meet your yarny comrades for the week and start to create fab memories.
What Is The Itinerary for 16-20th June 2025?
Tuesday 17th June
We start the morning with a lesson from Carol (one knitting and one crochet tbc).
In the afternoon, we drive up to Beskidzki Raj, visit the viewing tower, and enjoy some Obiad in their restaurant.
After that, you have the opportunity to walk through the forest back to Beskidzka Apartments or return by car.
Wednesday 18th June
This is being labeled as our rest day... lounging around the apartment and catching up on your newest project from yesterday...
Or we go out for the day, a trip to Krakow, Salt Mines, Auschwitz, the beer factory or Zakopane (additional charge for a trip out - will be confirmed after all spaces are filled)
Thursday 19th June
We start the morning with a lesson from Carol (one knitting and one crochet tbc).
In the afternoon, we visit Zawoja for Obiad. Afterwards, we will visit a local Alpaca farm*, watch a demo of alpaca yarn being spun, and feed the alpacas.
We finish our last full day by the firepit and stream booking sausages, s'mores and laughing.
Friday 20th June
After a fabulous four days of being busy, being entertained, learning from Carol, enjoying local cuisine, and relaxing, you will share your last breakfast before checking out and heading to the airport.
Maybe this isn't the end...
Beskidzka Apartments are offering a good deal if you wish to come before the retreat with family or by yourself or alternately staying for a few extra days when everyone else goes home - would you like your partner to join you for a few days before or after?
*The Alpaca visit is scheduled in and if not possible for reasons beyond our control, we will find another activity for the afternoon
Full Board!
We aim to provide you with the best Polish eating experience possible.
Polish meal times differ from those in England, so meal times may seem foreign.
Breakfast - by 8 am
Second breakfast (snack/sandwich etc)- around 11 am
Obiad (main meal) around 2 pm
Kolacja (evening snack) after 6 pm...
The apartments will also have tea, coffee, milk, water and juice available.
The apartments will have Breakfast, and Kolacja provided for you to help yourself. I can offer a complete list of what will be available. If you have any food intolerances, please let me know before booking.
However, Obiad (your main meal for the day) will be served in 3 fabulous restaurants close to us. Your cost includes your main meal and one soft / alcoholic drink.
How about a pick-up?
I will be meeting Carol off the plane on Monday, June 16th. Once her flight time is confirmed, I will keep you informed. If you are arriving in this time bracket, I will be able to take you to Beskidzka Apartments.
If your flight time is earlier, you are welcome to wait, and I can take you.
Alternatively, I will happily help you arrange private transfers or assist you in booking train tickets to Sucha Beskidzka from the airport.
This also applies to return journeys on Friday, 20th June.
